Love Poems

... with a citrus-grower's sense of the sacred
Oranges is a short (six poem) limited edition chapbook and the first book publication by Jeffrey Croteau. Jeff's poems and translations have appeared most recently in The Paris Review and Fence.

The book's title and preferatory quote make reference to Frank O'Hara, who in a series of poems, including the wonderful "Why I Am Not A Painter," meditates in a brilliant, half-joking sort of way on the nature of art and love (Jeff has suggested that all of O'Hara poems are love poems). The poems in Jeff's book certainly are love poems, each linked to the others through having something to say about oranges as well.

Oranges is digitally printed, bound by hand in a first edition of 50 numbered copies. The cover is letterpress. $10 (plus ~$5 media rate USPS shipping).
