Blue Ribbon Oil on canvas, 11"x14", $280 framed Blue Ribbon refers, of course, to this whole painting's reason to be - the intense reflection of the sky in the water of this marsh in Stratham, New Hampshire. I just wanted to paint that color. Once I'd gotten started, I also wanted to show how the November light, coming in at an angle from behind the viewer, would graze the tuft of reeds in the foreground before falling into the birches and the white-gold marsh grass on the opposite bank. - Click on the image for a full-size higher-res photo -
